Also, you are correct, a successful sports franchise is one that...succeeds. But that doesn't mean that a franchise that is a failure is a result of a market failure. This is the mistake people constantly make with Phoenix, for example. Did the fans that there were in Phoenix decide to move the team across town where there wasn't a fanbase and outside of the population center? Did they put a non-competitive team on ice for a decade? Are fans to blame for not wanting to see 10 plus years of losing or is that to be expected. Etc. Etc.

I don't see how Columbus' poor management has anything to do with Columbus as a market.
