With the lines that were rolled last night you essentially have four lines with the threat to score, and four lines with the ability to play a two-way game. The top two lines have your veteran presence with some youth. The third line had stone hands Smithson, yes, but also had Craig Smith and Tootoo. Smith will fire the puck from anywhere and battle in the hard areas. So will Tootoo, though his hands aren't nearly as good. The fourth line has energy. Having well-balanced lines on the road against a team that plays a tight, aggressive defensive system isn't a bad idea, and it got us a 3-0 victory while still continuing Smith's production.

Of course, I guess with the forwards we have any combination is going to have that same ability. Smith may have played his way back on to a top line, but it just seems like his game fits better with Tootoo and Smithson than would Erat, SK, or Wilson. If anyone gets moved down so Smith can move up it'll be Wilson.
