Nashville is not nearly as offensively starved as people around here seem to think. The team is currently 13th in the league in total offense, and 12th in the league in goals against. There also exists a myth about Nashville "defensive depth". Weber and Suter make up an elite pairing that not many teams, if any at all, can match. Outside of that Klein is probably our third best defender with Blum having plenty of potential to take a top-4, maybe top pairing, role. Bouillon has been playing top 4 minutes since he returned if that tells you anything about Nashville's blueline depth. A more accurate assessment would be that Nashville has an insane top pairing with tons of potential depth. I don't see how giving up Weber for a prospect, admittedly a prospect with a high ceiling, a guy who has yet to produce more than 50 points, and a pending UFA defenseman does anything to improve Nashville's chances at the play offs. If this team were faltering right now then I could see your point, but trading Weber for that package screams desperation. In fact, trading Weber at all screams desperation. The guy will continue to be an RFA until the summer of 2013. Anything short of a one-for-one swap (from Philly it would likely take JVR at least) isn't going to play well on these boards.
