I am not certain, but I am pretty sure both parties have to agree to it and it nullifies the contract? I think it is for players AND organizations that wish to part ways. I doubt Gomez wants out of that contract.
Also, if I am not mistaken it is like 50K that must be paid when you claim a player of normal waivers right?
