Perhaps he was embarrassed by his disappearing act during training camp.

Or maybe, just maybe, Kundratrek got lost down the depth chart and needed a fresh start. In which case, the Rangers did him a favor-especially since he had been a healthy scratch for the Whalepack and could have ended up in the ECHL in order to get playing time.
