I've never been a fan of this pick and with every hard hit being scrutinized , fighting possibly being phased out at some point makes this nice big kid who can't do much else at this point nothing more than a project . If you can somehow up sell him to get an impact player now while Richards , GABY , Henke all in prime and under contract im in favor of cutting bait on him . Not to mention he's concussed now also .
I was watching the Stars game the other night and even the commentators were saying that with Souray back there now, every defenseman on the Stars is playing with his chest puffed out A LOT more than they were last year. The commentators stated they asked the players and they said it was because they knew they had someone back there who could and would take care of things if the need arose.
We as fans saw just a little hint of it once Sauer got up with the Rangers. The defense started to really take pride in clearing people out of the crease and battling more.
