How to prepare for a crosscheck in the back?

when positioning yourself in front of the net, widen your stance to make a triangle/tripod with your feet to make an upside down V and lean forward a bit on your stick and you should be able to absorb most of that crosscheck when it does come. Unless its a Pronger-like penalty worthy crosscheck.
