Timmins' drafting record can get him a job on any team in the NHL.
IMHO in terms of value(this is in response to the we trade away our 2nd rounders too much people) the most valuable player is a NHL caliber player that can fit into your line up today, the second most valuable player is an AHLer who can play in your NHL lineup for the year if needed and third is your draft picks. So trading away and unknown variable for a known commodity is never wrong unless it is a top ten pick in a good draft year. The guys that we got for second rounders( wiz, moore ) gave us what we needed short term and they helped out greatly but to keep them means younger guys do not get a chance to move up. Keeping Wiz means we cannot have Weber full time yet( everyone healthy ) or Emelin. Emelin goes to Russia and we lose him nothing and Weber eventually gets traded or demands more ice time and then gets traded.
