while a handful of 1st round decisions failed in hindsight, overall I think it's virtually impossible not to be very happy with Timmins draft success.

the point of scouting/drafting is to find NHL talent. Timmins has led one of the absolute best in the league in that regard.

that the management team behind him has done such a terrible job of managing those players once they became part of the organization is another story, and shouldn't reflect on his role at all.

Timmins is, almost without question, the most effective part of our management team, and the only one who really deserves to stick if/when ownership decides to move in another direction.
