Also, for the sake of argument again, lets say they don't get there, playing meaningful hockey in Feb, March, and April is just as good as playoff hockey because they are still trying to get there. 4th, 5th round picks, bottom tier prospects, so on are not as important as playing games that actually mean something.

...If 6 teams win the games they have in hand we're tied for 25th in the league. We're not in a great spot to make a run at the playoffs. Don't get me wrong I'd love for us to get there and give Alfredsson one last shot. But I don't think we have the forward depth to get it done.
