In terms of private business the only people who get to vote are shareholders (in the case of a publically traded company) and/or a board of directors. Season ticket holders = customers, not shareholders.

One issue (of many probably but its the first that comes to mind) is how many season tickets are in fact held by corporate entities and how that could affect team directions , creating a situation where the GM and HC are then working for corporate interests outside the Habs org. in hopes of securing blocks of votes.
