Not really fair. Both those guys have played a lot of their games on the 4th line and missed games, while playing <13 mins night with no PP time. Stalberg is on a 46pt/82 game pace, all at even ES, which is more than most 1st line players score @ES (no Hawk scored more than 50 pts ES last year.) Carcillo has added a needed physical element to the top six without holding back scoring on that line at all. The hawks can definitely upgrade talent-wise above those two, but it's not a
right now (this top six has 93 pts and is +63 in 106 player games, an incredible two-way pace.)
I don't know exactly what this team needs to add via trade right now. Let's see how Ben Smith fits in, if Morin can get back on track, how the D gels, if Bickell can wake up, if Stalberg is really finding his confidence, and most importantly where the inevitable injuries fall. But I agree with everyone, Doan works in every scenario.
