If I had to guess, I'd bet that you're not skating/playing in a power position to begin with and that is resulting in a) falling more and b) when you do fall, you're not in an athletic position to take the fall properly. I'm a pretty lightweight guy (6'1"/170) and I've really had to work on staying strong on my skates. As I've done this, I not only get knocked off of my feet less, but when I do, I tend to take the hit well. I'll bet if you concentrated on staying in a power position, strong on your skates, you'll improve in this area. My guess is you're standing up too straight and/or your just too relaxed when you get hit and your body is not prepared to react to the impacts.
