I don't know that he avoids injuries as much as we think he does. I think he just mans up and plays through them.
He is still a serviceable #1 on a lot of teams. And I guarantee you that if he wanted to focus his energies on accumulating points, he could. He has in the past. This team hasn't had a problem scoring goals this year or in years prior, and if you look at the difference in both goals for and against, with and with out him in the line up . . . you'll see he is a #1.

His stick skills, both defensively and offensively are still the second best on the team behind only Pronger. So He skates well, has good hands and defensive stick work, decent shot, is hockeysmart, blocks shot, plays hurt, and plays lots of minutes against the best players, and is a plus player. So about the only thing he doesn't do well is check the hell out of people. Give his minutes to $3.5 million dollar man, Matt Carle for a week and see if you don't change your mind. Kimmo is a the man.
