It's not a sure thing that any defender is going to stay healthy. Markov might be an above average injury risk but so is Wisniewski - he too has had an ACL tear on the same knee twice back to back. In fact the Wiz has had three ACL tears on his right knee in his career. Last season was also the first time in his career he played over 70 games. Markov on the other hand played 78 games two years ago.

Personally I was on the fence with Markov - I wanted him back but I didn't think the team could move forward with him a big part of their plans, especially for this season. I also liked the Wiz. But he's not worth Markov's contract, let alone what he's making now.
