Ovechkin had 27 points in 37 games in his first post-draft year in the RSL, and in his 2nd post-draft year Ovy was in the NHL, tearing it up. In Tarasenko's first post draft year (last season) he put up 19 points in 42 games, it's now his 2nd post draft year and he's so far put up 23 points in 23 games. Regardless, stats do not tell the whole story with prospects ever, Kulemin put up 27 goals and 39 points in 54 games in his first post-draft season, but nobody was comparing him to Ovechkin, just as nobody should compare Tarasenko to Ovechkin. He's a great prospect, he definitely has 1st line upside IMO, but he's nowhere near as dynamic as Ovechkin, and cannot create offense out of nothing like Ovy can.
