Do you honestly expect Lundqvist to carry a consistent bubble team through the playoffs? Fleury did it with a top-4 team that went to cup finals a year prior. Ward did it with a 2nd place team. The highest this team has placed since the lockout is 5th. So, Lundqvist and the Rangers have been at a disadvantage EVERY SINGLE TIME THEY'VE BEEN IN THE PLAYOFFS. There's a difference between choking in the playoffs and not having the necessary support; and Lundqvist's situation is the latter. Even then, he's the only reason the Rangers were even in their series the past 2 you think the Rangers get to game 7 in 2009 without him? And do you think the Rangers eve make it to the playoffs themselves without him?
Great post...the same people complaining that this team is made up of complimentary/redundant forwards (btw I happen to agree) are also complaining that Hank can't take the mediocre team anywhere in the playoffs...but they don't want allow the fact that the team is mediocre to be part of the discussion.
