That deal can't happen without the Sabres shedding around $1.1M in salary as Ryan is a $5.1M cap hit and Stafford is at $4M.

It's a tricky puzzle to solve.
Also I believe the Ducks have 50 under contract and the Sabres have 48. Buffalo has little cap room and Anaheim doesn't want to take on anymore money so the deal could be a tough one to pull off.
