I have been following hockey since 80's and I've had this kind of expectations only for 2 players before; Selanne, who overachieved and Koivu who underachieved their rookie season (in my expectations).

It may take time to adapt, many superstars like Sedins, Giroux etc. weren't key scorers in the beginning...it's also a matter of ice time.

The point is which role Granlund gets in Minnesota. It should be top 6 minutes plus PP time with Heatley. If so, I'm not surprised if he makes close to PPG as a rookie.

If he plays in 3rd line he will make his linemates better but points will get lover of course. But to put guy like him to AHL is madness
