I have been following hockey since 80's and I've had this kind of expectations only for 2 players before; Selanne, who overachieved and Koivu who underachieved their rookie season (in my expectations).

It may take time to adapt, many superstars like Sedins, Giroux etc. weren't key scorers in the's also a matter of ice time.

The point is which role Granlund gets in Minnesota. It should be top 6 minutes plus PP time with Heatley. If so, I'm not surprised if he makes close to PPG as a rookie.

If he plays in 3rd line he will make his linemates better but points will get lover of course. But to put guy like him to AHL is madness
