The logic of starting a rookie goalie against the #2 team in the West doesn't seem logical at first, especially when our offense is near the best in the league. But I think it may have been a tactic to wake up the detroit defense, which I hear has been slumping. Pretty smart move if that was the reason...really forced the D to step up and work hard to block shots and protect Howard. Props to Babcock if that was his thinking.
