First of all, the only thing you could see on the FSN replay was a tip of a stick blade. That is not the puck, therefore it is not a goal. Maybe the puck was in directly under Esche, but we will never know, because you couldn't tell on replay. That's the whole point. If you can't see it go in, it's not a goal.
The game was pretty solid. The Flyers forechecked really well, and played pretty damn solid defensively. Esche was meh, but those deflections are tough to stop. Either way, I still think he needed to be better tonight, but he wasn't horrible. And no, they're not waiving him and signing Thibault. He hasn't really been playing any better.
Gagne is a beast. This guy may not be the best sniper in the league or have the absolute best shot, but he can get in to the scoring areas/positions as good as any player. He's all over the ice. Plus, he was out there for basically all of the last 2 minutes trying to protect a lead.
Edit: And how about Handzus on faceoffs? He won something like 40 of 51 against the islanders in the last two games.
