IMO look at Matt Frattin, sorry if this is OT, but almost all of Leafs Nation was under the impression that it was a problem with him, but hes struggling with other things, not the skating.
IMO, skating is incredibly important in today's NHL, but I think scouts are really looking for the mechanics because otherwise they can work on skating so much. And from what ive read and seen, Griffin's seems to be decent mechanically.
Having said that, with a name like griffin he needs to get his mean streak going if its in him. Such a great hockey name haha!
