If Gustafsson comes back soon, that would be a big boost to the D. Before he got hurt, he was averaging over 18 minutes of ice time and looked very good out there. Laviolette just needs to avoid overworking the top four and get the 5 and 6 D guys more involved in the game. If he can do that, there shouldn't be a need to look for another top four guy while Pronger is out.

With that being said, I don't think Holmgren can sit still while this is going on. If the Flyers go on a losing streak and if Laviolette ends up playing the crap out of the top four, Holmgren will go shopping. Another name to consider - Cody Franson from Toronto. Big guy who can skate and is a pretty decent defender with a good offensive game. Might not be the most physical of players, but certainly is good with regards to positional play
