Jagr was the first I ever saw do it. Think it was back in '96. 'Course back then we called it "the future Marek Malik move". Nobody knew who Marek Malik was, but we didn't care, we were young and full of life before the Republicans came to power. 'Course we in Canada were still under the Liberals. Used to paint the town liberal red whenever the Russian ambassadors came t' town. Absolut great time that was. We'd have borscht and stroganoff and sing songs about the future when the Marek Malik move would be tried by everybody. Then again, them Russians, they were calling it the Ovechkin move by that point. Kid was only knee high to a PEI tractor pull but he sher could score, well, with "the future Marek Malik move that was first done by Jagr but copyrighted by the Russian Alexander Ovechkin" anyways. Ahhhhhhhhh.... the good ol' days when Aki Berg was gonna win us a Norris......
