Ya know, it's funny watching Sens fans justifying their team's actions in that game... No one "RAN" their goalie, but I guess anyone who feels the need to insult Hasek's H.O.F. ability by trying to poke at a loose puck is in essence RUNNING him.
Hasek leaves his crease to confront Avery over the "insult" and took one to the chops for it... (How Hasek escaped a minor penalty is beyond me, probably for the same political reasons that Gretzky was able to avoid a fine for the Doan sitch, because he's the "Dominator"). Avery then gets tackled by two Senators players and later gets picked on by a guy he's giving up HUGE height and weight to and who's only on the SENS because Brian Murray is the coach (see Jim Fox's in-game comments for an explanation).
Cowan didn't instigate a thing with the kid who clearly dropped his gloves first against only to take a man-sized beating from an acknowledged "middleweight".
That's to say nothing of the fineable/suspendable actions of Chara with Gleason who is taken on merely because Cowan beat on a younger guy who dropped his gloves willingly and FIRST!
The Sens were obviously using this game to try to show the league they're not the soft, cozy team they used to be. Big deal, it's not like anyone's going to back down to them... Ottawa is a highly skilled team with speed and good goaltending and special teams... but their fans aren't too bright apparently. If they take on a key injury this season, they can probably kiss their cup chances goodbye.
And I love the trollers (errrrrrrrr posters) who come here with, "bottomline 5-1 win deal with it" ... like somehow the Kings are their b*tch... The last 7 games with the Kings the Senators are now 1-5-1.
