I want the Habs to take every step to improve their chances of winning. By not disclosing information, other teams can't take advantage of what they know.

Example: If the Habs had been straight up about Markov, Carolina may have been able to squeeze more out of them knowing they had a big need for a puck-mover.

Another example: If nobody knew Ribeiro was a locker-room distraction, then Gainey probably would have been able to get a little more for him.

Just little things like that. Of course the media is going to complain about it. They want stories to write articles about.
