There's a few seconds left in the 2nd. Jokerit is leading Salzburg 2-1.
This is an interesting scenario, as Salzburg is completely outmatched by Jokerit. First period shots were 13-2 in favor of Joker.
Turco let in another PP goal. I'm not sure what that means about his ability. Salzburg probably would have been blown out of the water already if not for Turco though. He's doing very well, but he's not really dominating like I'd like to see.
However, experience has taught me that a goalie does not necessarily need to 'dominate' at one level to succeed at another. Back when Nikolai Khabibulin was holding out from the Coyotes, and playing for the IHL's Long Beach Ice Dogs, the Solar Bears scored 5 on him in (I believe) the only time they met.
Khabi later gets traded to Tampa and the rest is history.
Shots in the 2nd period. 10-10.
Umm....okay. The third period started and they have voice commentary, in English, for what's apparently a soccer game.
higher quality feed w/German commentary.
Random fact: "tic-tac-toe" has no German equivalent.
What's amusing to me is that I don't speak German, but I can still tell these guys are huge homers.
Red Bull pulls out the win. Turco seems to be 3rd star again. They literally gave him a backpack.
In hindsight, it was a penalty fest. One team or the other was constantly on the power play, so it's kind of hard to gauge Turco at 5-on-5. Would he be an upgrade to Roloson? Would a trashcan filled with sand be an upgrade?
