If they're just going to keep scratching Avery, there is no reason for him to be counting against the cap. With Rupp back, and Wolski back soon, someone has to get sent down between Avery, EC, Mitchell, and Hagelin. Hagelin isn't going anywhere, and Tort's seems to favor Mitchell over EC and Avery. My guess is that those two get sent down, or some type of trade happens. We really do have way too many forwards. Even beyond the log jam in the NHL, we have pretty good forward depth in the AHL with guys like Newbury, MZA, JAM (unsigned), Deveaux, and Thuresson all being adequate fill-ins, at least for a couple games at a time.
