There was also the time he threw his glove at an opponent during a game (can't remember, was it an automatic goal or did the guy get a penalty shot?); so the Phantoms had a night where they asked fans to bring new gloves or mittens to throw on the ice during intermission for those in need. He was there for it and he signed autographs on the concourse, he was a good sport about it.
