Don't listen to Coates & Co, Battousai. That was no pick. Kapanen took the Wild player near the goal line, but just before he got there, he passed it back up to the defenseman pinching. The d-man one-timed the pass from the boards to a player coming into the zone. Eager simply followed through on the check when the pass was made up to the pinching defenseman. I rewound and reviewed this play several times to ensure I wasn't fooling myself.

It wasn't a pick, it wasn't interference, and it wasn't anything else resembling a violation. I don't mind the "new" NHL where they more strictly enforce the rules, but I didn't realize that meant they'd also make some up along the way.

The words "unblowupable" and "brutal" are often thrown around loosely when describing bad calls, but one of them definitely applies here. (Hint: it's not "unblowupable.")
