I think a lot of the responses depend upon the age and experience of the fan.

I can remember Clark Gillies, Bobby Nystrom and John Tonelli so beating the Islanders is always sweet, especially when one of them is in the house to see it.

But for the last decade or so, the main thing I think about as a ranger fan when playing the Islanders is to show a consistent effort. NYR teams that play "down" to the competition or get beat indicate a bigger problem on the club. It doesn't have much to do with the state of the team on Long Island.

I honestly think the best thing for les icelanders is to move to a hockey market such as Southern Ontario, where they can grow themselves into a true franchise.

Looking back on it all, the team just doesn't have enough support from the community. Its the national sport in Canada and the fans up there deserve another team or two or three for that matter.

Winnipeg is sold out, standing room only and loving every game. The Islanders deserve that kind of support too.
