We were getting the better of them, because of which we jumped out to a two-goal lead there. You know that when you come into this building, it’s only a matter of time before they put pressure on you and create chances. That’s a talented group over there. We were fortunate to weather the storm and get out of here with two points.’’
“We’ve been doing a real good effort on the PK in the past couple weeks. It’s all about the mentality that we’re going into the kill with. Guys are competing, guys are battling, and that’s what it takes to kill off penalties."

You kind of start to build some momentum and feel more confident and better out there. Things just kind of went well for us tonight. (on his goal…) Those two guys [Fraser and Clifford] did a good job of getting to the net. I just threw it there. They were able to keep it alive, banging and crashing away. I kind of looped around the net and it was laying there. It definitely wouldn’t have happened without Cliffy and Fraz in there, creating havoc and keeping the play alive. They worked really hard for that one."

A two-goal cushion is huge, so getting that goal right at the start of the third was obviously big in that aspect. Quickie did the rest. (on the fourth line’s effort…) (Darryl Sutter) said it after the second period. He said, `Every line is going, so let’s keep it that way.’ He rolled everybody, and everyone got into it. There weren’t many penalties in the third, so there was a good flow. Everyone was into the game, and we got results. (on his line’s effort on Stoll’s goal…) I’d have been really, really, really upset if that didn’t go in, because I missed a couple really good chances. But I was happy that Stolly finished it off for me. It made me feel good because, as I said, that was a really big goal, getting that cushion for us at the start of the third."

(on the effort of the fourth line…) The first period, there was a lot of special teams, so our fourth line did a really good job. As it went on, we were able to roll it. I thought, obviously, with Trent coming out of the stands, and Colin has been playing really well for us, and Cliffy, we talked to him before the game about trying to get him some more ice time. Hey, he drove the net on the first goal and did a good job. (on using the fourth line on the power play…) It was a four-minute power play, so you just can’t use two groups. It was good to reward guys, too. It’s not a right, that everybody gets on the (power-play units). It’s nice to put some hard-working guys out there. (on whether he has tweaked the penalty kill at all…) No. Actually, the Los Angeles Kings, for the last two years, it’s been the best part of their game, their penalty kill. I haven’t done anything, to be quite honest with you. (on beating the hot Blackhawks…) Things go on. They’re on a long homestand, after Christmas, and they’re probably not as sharp as they wanted to be. Quicker made those big saves early and, hey, it makes the difference in the game."

NOTE : Regarding LARGE SIZE IMAGES / YELLOW RE-SIZE IMAGE BARS ABOVE PICS, let me offer up one nice little suggestion ...
This will get rid of those pesky yellow resize bars over the top of some larger pictures ... as they annoy the hell out of me and maybe they do you also ?
- Go into/click on your "USER CP" {control Panel} up top left in the red bars
- on the left under 'Settings & Options' click on "Edit Options"
- scroll down to 'Thread Display Options', and then 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- click on the 'Drop Down List Box' over on the Right of 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- select it to "KEEP ORIGINAL SIZE"
- SAVE your selections !
There ... now don't that look MUCH BETTER
