That's fair, but at one point in the summer a few posters made a valid point regarding that potential situation.

That if Richards and Gaborik don't gel, it would still cause mismatches for the opposition. Doubtful most NHL teams have the defensive depth to plan and match up against two top offensive players on two separate lines.

One takes the pressure off the other.

So they're beneficial to eachother regardless if they're on the ice together or not.

Richards impact is huge for this club. For the young guys especially.

He is as advertised and how/what we hoped.

Get him a scoring winger. Be it Kreider or via trade. But either this year or next he deserves a scorer he can feed. So his passing game can get back to where it has been in the past.
