Read my post, I said that in the past (ie not this year), there's no way that 75% of his assists were off rebounds. For what ever reason this year, I don't think that he has clicked with Kariya all that well.

I consider a playmaker more than just "having assists." Althought Marty has had some absolutely beautiful assists in the past, I consider a playmaker to be a guy who make things happen out of nothing. Where as the average offensive players just do the routine stuff, a playmaker makes the goals happen. This maybe scoring goals, it maybe getting shots to the net that ultimately find their way in, it maybe setting people up.

Martin Erat makes things happen, and his ability to do that will only improve.
