Because we have solid pieces on the blueline anyway. We could just draft a bluechip in the upcoming draft class that has a lot of bluechip defensemen and sign/trade for a decent top 4 guy to compliment what we have now in the meantime.

There's no need to blow assets right now, particularly when teams are built down the middle.

In two years we could potentially be the strongest team at center in the NHL. That's a pretty big freaking deal to be honest.
