Pretty nice to have the biggest impact players on this team developed from our own system.

Callahan has turned himself into a 1st liner, which some people thought would never happen as he's just another 3rd liner. 30 points in 38 games, same as Richards, 4 less than Gabby

Hank is Hank, but better as hard as that may be to believe

McDonagh has hit a wall recently, but he's young playing top line minutes, and recently finished his first season (82 games in career). Staal's return will help him a lot to reduce his minutes.

Same as Hank, Girardi has been Girardi, but better.

Step is the biggest upgrade though. This is what people envisioned of him, but not this soon. Playing with Gaborik, who is having a potential 50 goal campaign. That was supposed to be Richards doing that, but it's Stepan leading the way on this team in assists.

DZ has turned himself into a "Norris candidate" as the writer suggests, but it's too soon for that kind of talk.
