I mean think about 93-94 Gretzky had 38 goals AND 92 assists. Eight guys went over 100 points and two more had 99 points. 181 guys had 40 or more points. And that was in a league featuring 26 teams. That's 26x6=156 Top-6 players. So back then you could legitimately call 40 points a third line player.
