JR was just beginning to look like a true top-6, and who knows; it might've continued like that. Can you really say that, over the next 4-6 weeks, he wouldn't have been very important to the Kings success? He's one of the team's better penalty killers. He also contributes with good speed and passing. Sure, fill-in players do an ok job, but there's no substitute for true top-6 talent. I would've thought that the '03-'04 season (with fill-in players up the wazoo) had already taught that lesson.

I agree in that we really need to make some kind of move after the holiday freeze is over. Otherwise, it WILL bite us big time. The big question, is what will we have to give up? The Thornton trade as well as others, lead me to believe that it might not be as bad as originally feared.
