I've used a variety of grips (standard cloth tape, cohesive gauze tape, and tackimac grips), and personally I like tackimacs the best. My favourite is the 7" "sand" grip, it's pretty thin, and has a nice grippy texture. The "wrapped" grip is a bit thicker, with a less grippy texture, I don't like it as much (have tried both). The only issue I have is that knob is too long for me, it comes with a roughly 3/4" knob, so I just cut it down to the size I prefer (more like 1/4") with an xacto knife.

I like tackimacs for a number of reasons:
- just like how the grip feels in my top hand
- last ages, unlike those cohesive gauze tapes that wear out pretty quick
- really easy on the palms of my gloves

May or may not be for you, it basically all comes down to what kind of feel you personally like on that top hand, but worth trying IMO.
