We need a scoring left wing... Cap space is going to be crucial for a rental or beyond. Sorry, but unless the situation doesn't affect the NYR cap at all (or favorably) its a non-issue.
Agreed. I also like Avery and would actually prefer him on the team over Christ or even Mitchell had all other things been equal. But they aren't. This "story" is just Brooks stirring the pot to help out his buddy. I don't see him writing about other GM's keeping NHL players in "limbo," like the guys mentioned earlier in this thread, who are also down in AHL. The Rangers don't owe Avery a recall. If a team wants him, make the trade and assume the risk inherent in re-entry waivers.
