We’ve got a big game tonight against Dallas, and that’s ultimately what we’re all focused on. … It’s exciting. It’s something I’m looking forward to. It will be a great time. It will be a good couple days, but that’s a couple weeks away. We’ve got a lot of work to do here in the next couple weeks."

He’s had it since the day he came up here, when he got called up from the East Coast league. He walked in here, not with a cockiness where you want to punch him in the face, but like, `I’m going to stop the puck, you guys do your job,’ that kind of cockiness. He chirps guys in practice. But from the standpoint of development, he has kind of grown as this team has grown over the last few years. I think he’s starting to be a lot more consistent in his game, especially this year. Everyone talks about how this team has changed so much, and I think the biggest difference is our goaltending. I’ve been here for eight years now, and we finally have had a solidified goalie, where there’s no question. And we’ve got two of them, actually, now. Prior to that, we had some good teams and we didn’t do well, because you need a good goalie. Quicker has been good since he’s been here. I think the biggest thing is his consistency. He’s starting to get more and more consistent, which is a scary thought. It’s more about an attitude. He’s got a presence about him. He’s not looking to get noticed. He comes in and goes about his business. He definitely wants to let you know if you haven’t scored on him (in practice) in a couple weeks. That’s about the only time I see him brag, is when he’s got someone’s number in practice. He’s a big reason why we’re at where we’re at this year. He has grown as this team has grown. Over the last couple years, if we don’t have him, I don’t know if we’re the same."

(on his `Tebow’ celebration…) Hey, you have some fun while you’re scoring, it’s fun to score, so you might as well have some fun. I was watching the Broncos game with some buddies who flew in from Michigan. They said, `If you score, you’ve got to Tebow.’ I said, `OK, you’re on.’ (on the intensity of the game…) It’s fun though. It’s refreshing to play a team like that. Everyone wants to see new teams and I thought it was a fun hockey game. (on playing against Ovechkin…) It’s fun to play against guys like that. It’s just as much fun for us to play against him as it is for fans to watch him. He’s a great player and it’s fun to play a team we don’t see very much. (on bouncing back from Saturday’s loss…) It was important to score some goals. We didn’t score one goal in regulation in two games. That’s pretty frustrating. It’s paying back our goalies, because they’ve been playing out of this world, and giving them some breathing room."

I think every night the lines have been very strong. (on his goal…) It was just a veteran play by Hunts, getting to the net there. Just go to the net hard. Obviously with a couple of our goals tonight, that’s how we got rewarded, going to the net and getting pucks to the net. (on rebounding from the Columbus loss…) Obviously we needed to dig down. We had our chances against Columbus there, and (we had to) put that in the past and learn from it. Moving forward, we just made sure we were bearing down around the net."

(on the five goals…) They scored all the goals the same way, going to the front of the net, stopping around the net, rebound plays. They’re all capable of doing that. … It’s good to score. It’s good for those guys. And we got it from all the lines. It wasn’t like it was one guy, or just the guys who usually do that stuff. (on the Kings’ net-front play…) All the goals were the same. That’s how most of the goals are scored, rebounds and guys around the net. You look at even Ovechkin and those guys. They’re around the net to score. Everybody sees the highlight reels and thinks that’s how it is, but it’s really not like that in this league. (on Kyle Clifford getting rewarded for good play with a goal…) It’s a good deal. He made some really good plays, for not just the goal but also on (Jack Johnson’s) goal. (on breaking through with five goals…) The league is a 3-2 league. It’s simple. That’s what it is. When you do it at the end of the year, that’s what it is. So you’ve got to try to score three and keep them under two. (on rebounding from the Columbus loss…) Hell of an effort Saturday too. Everybody bases it on wins and losses. A lot of times when you lose, you’re winning. You just have to stay with it and figure it out and not let anything else get in your way."

Other teams are not very good in the checking part of it, and they end up being a minus team, or vice versa. You can be a good defensive team and not be able to get it done on the offensive part of it. But I think, as you go through that whole process, it’s just time. You’ve got to have that kind of patience with your young hockey team, those core guys that are going to be there for an extended period of time, to bring it all together, to become a mature group of players. To be a real good team in the league, you have to be a high plus team. The scoring for L.A. is starting to come. They’re starting to get timely goals. That was something that I just couldn’t get it going. The power play didn’t click. In any given game, if we had just been able to score one or two power-play goals, it would have been a `W’ and I’d still be coaching the team. It was that fine of a line. It’s just a young group of guys in L.A. right now that have to get themselves healthy and get some real good confidence in themselves, and it will come together. It’s a great group, a great leadership group. It’s a very strong dressing room. I really like what’s gone on there, during my time there, and they’re just continuing to build on it. I think that the L.A. Kings could become a team to reckon with as they move through the rest of this year."

NOTE : Regarding LARGE SIZE IMAGES / YELLOW RE-SIZE IMAGE BARS ABOVE PICS, let me offer up one nice little suggestion ...
This will get rid of those pesky yellow resize bars over the top of some larger pictures ... as they annoy the hell out of me and maybe they do you also ?
- Go into/click on your "USER CP" {control Panel} up top left in the red bars
- on the left under 'Settings & Options' click on "Edit Options"
- scroll down to 'Thread Display Options', and then 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- click on the 'Drop Down List Box' over on the Right of 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- select it to "KEEP ORIGINAL SIZE"
- SAVE your selections !
There ... now don't that look MUCH BETTER
