Interesting information about the Flyers PK from the Inquirer

Were it not for a horrendous start by the Flyers' special teams in the first 10 games of the season, they would be ranked in the upper fifth of the league in penalty-killing. As it is, they are 28th. Over the last 14 games, the Flyers have killed off 61 of 72 power plays for a success rate of 84.7 percent. That would rank them in the upper tier of the NHL. However, in the first 10 games, the Flyers gave up 18 power-play goals on 72 chances (75 percent success). They were slightly worse over the next 10 games, with 15 goals against in 61 chances. Hence, they got pigeonholed into 30th place, and it's been an uphill struggle to get out of the cellar ever since.
