After the Kings beat Calgary tonight, the game puck went to coach Darryl Sutter, who got the better of his brother, Flames coach Brent Sutter, and also beat the team with which he served as coach and (later) general manager for eight years. At the final horn, Jarret Stoll got the puck and the team gave it to Sutter, and cheered him when he walked in the locker room

“He was pretty intense all day, more so than usual,” Kings forward Dustin Penner said. “The way he spoke, and what he said, you could tell this meant a lot to him, and we were happy to get it for him.’’

Sutter, true to his stoic public persona, said the win didn’t mean anything extra special to him.

“Non-factor,” Sutter said. “It’s interesting that you guys [reporters] keep talking about it. Our concept, and our mindset, is always about the team first. That stuff really doesn’t mean much to me.”

Sutter said he would give the game puck to his son 18-year-old Chris.

“I’m going to give it to Chris. I can’t find him,” Sutter said.

It's so serious it's funny...but it's seriously growing on me faster then mold can grow on bread during the summer.
