While others might say that there isn't such a thing as a gimme team in this league, Pittsburgh is as close to a gimme as you can get.
Like I've stated in previous posts, we should be literally steam rolling the competition. I'll give Hitch his due when he said that in the Pittsburgh game, the guys let up and the thing that he's going to have to preach is to continue to hammer down on teams, even if we're beating them. We need to be making examples of these teams, no matter how bush league it may seem.
If it comes down to a tie and if our Goals For and Goals Against is worse than someone else's, we get the lower seed. Now it's time for the Flyers to begin to separate themselves from the pretenders and really establish some dominance. We're beginning to get healthy. What we also need is for someone to step forward and be the leader of this team while Primeau is gone. It's fine and dandy that everyone on the team is saying they're going to wait for Keith to come back, but the stark reality is that he might not come back. It's time that someone like Gagne or Handzus, players who have been here for some time now, take that next step in the leadership puzzle and really step forward to lead this team.
Blues anyone? IMO they are far worse than the Penguins.
