It's interesting to get the perspective of an Edmonton writer,and he makes some good points. The play of the Ottawa veterans is one of the reasons they are doing better and of course the Oilers have a subpar defensive group.

Another problem seems to be the development of the young players in the Edmonton system.It seems that Edmonton is drafting great young players year after year who never seem to progress as they should.

We see how much the Senators prospects have benfited from our system, see...Mark Stone for example and Borowickie as well as all those late drafted players who won the Calder last year and are contributing to this years Senators success.
