If it has to be used over this summer it's Pronger no question. Yes you can LTIR him, but what if he sits out all of 2013 and then tries to come back? That throws a 5M wrench into the cap figure because if he's able to play and wants to the Flyers can't do dick all to stop him. Pronger's uncertainty trumps Bryzgalov's one year of struggle. You also have to take into account the rules regarding LTIR and how it pertains to unofficially retired players (a la Laperriere) could change.

If it works like the NBA's does (I think) it can be used any summer over the length of the CBA then I think they sit on it for a year (If Holmgren can bury his ***** for that long) to see if Bryzgalov rebounds.
