KINGS look to ring in New Years Eave with a Victory against the CANUCKS

We have to be better. (on the Oilers being aggressive and blocking shots…) It’s not that easy to get shots through. When you’re working hard, you get opportunities. When you’re not working hard, it’s just tough to get shots on goal in this league. D block it. We’ve got to get our feet moving more. Like I said, we found a way to get a point, which, at this time of year, is a huge point. It’s a double-edged sword, though. We can’t accept the way we played in the first two periods."

(on playing on consecutive nights…) It might factor in a little bit, but it’s all mental. I think if you can get around the back-to-back game thing, mentally, it translates into your physical performance. We obviously struggled a little bit for two periods. (on the reason for the slow start…) I think it’s preparation. We did play last night, but nobody is using that as an excuse here. We need points. We’re a team that’s desperate, right now, to get off the bubble and get into maybe home-ice and maybe the division. There’s no excuse for it. I think it’s just a lack of preparation, myself included. (on Jonathan Quick’s play…) Both of our goalies have been great all year. They’ve given us a chance, and that’s all you can ask your goalie to do. He was fantastic all night. You look at the two goals. I know one was even strength, but it’s pretty much two power-play goals. He played fantastic for us and gave us a chance. At least we got a point."

(on getting one out of a possible two points…) We got three out of four points. We didn’t lose. We got three out of four. That’s for you guys [reporters] to be negative about, not me. (on the game…) We had opportunities. I didn’t see the last time (the Kings) played Edmonton, but our team has had trouble scoring against Edmonton. … I didn’t have tickets for that (last) game. Didn’t see it. (on why he started Quick…) Most No. 1 goalies play back-to-backs. (on Quick being up to the task…) He wasn’t overworked last night. We got a point. We’ll take it. It’s a tough league."

NOTE : Regarding LARGE SIZE IMAGES / YELLOW RE-SIZE IMAGE BARS ABOVE PICS, let me offer up one nice little suggestion ...
This will get rid of those pesky yellow resize bars over the top of some larger pictures ... as they annoy the hell out of me and maybe they do you also ?
- Go into/click on your "USER CP" {control Panel} up top left in the red bars
- on the left under 'Settings & Options' click on "Edit Options"
- scroll down to 'Thread Display Options', and then 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- click on the 'Drop Down List Box' over on the Right of 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- select it to "KEEP ORIGINAL SIZE"
- SAVE your selections !
There ... now don't that look MUCH BETTER
