The Rangers wanted it more. They were coming off an embarrassing loss to Montreal, they had a team that played last night that they needed to beat if only for their egos, and they went out and suffocated us at every opportunity. Good forechecking indirectly led to the first goal and directly led to the second goal.
This is a loss that, like any other, is frustrating on its face, but when you really look at it, we didn't play all that poorly. Lindback was fantastic in net for us. We had plenty of chances, but Lundqvist is so freaking humongous in the net (and deep in the net - he rarely strays beyond the crease) that we were going to need a rebound or an injury to Lundqvist to get much in the way of offense. We got neither, thanks to great defense from the Rangers.
We played against an extremely well-coached team with a world-class goalie between the pipes. Gotta tip your hat to them and go beat the hell out of Columbus again.
