With Kopitar as your first line center and Richards as the second, the team is as good as it gets there. Unfortunately, the supporting cast are a bunch of muckers and grinders with not a whole lot of skill (and even Richards would not be considered a "skill" type player in the range of a Kopitar but would still normally get you 60-70 points) and it's easy to see why the offense is generated from the blue line and the goals for average is a little over 2 (and falling). This creates a very passive game with little high tempo, although they do try an up-tempo at times. Quick must be just beside himself with the lack of scoring support but realistically, I don't see much changing this year. No-one is going to provide a couple of top 6 wingers who can generate good offence for nothing. Gagne was supposed to be a help there but I think he's probably a wash at this point.
