Is that "giving up the season" in your book because people aren't predicting a division win and/or a conference finals appearance? Also, I think people were loving the team they saw score 13 goals in three games... but we haven't seen THAT team arrive since. We've seen other people wearing the same sweaters.
I've seen people go a lot more extreme than that. I see people who expect them to be at the bottom of the standings within a week. All I'm saying is every team has ups and downs. San Jose, for example, had an even ****tier week than us. It happens, but we still have two more full months of games and a lot can change.
They need to score more goals and hopefully they can address that with a trade for a winger. But I still think people are discounting the goaltending factor. I have seen so many teams carried through the playoffs with an amazing goaltender. I'd much rather be in that position than a position like the Flyers are in where they aren't sure which goalie will show up every game. Playoffs are crazy, you just need a few guys to turn it on at the right time and suddenly you're making a long run.
I don't think they are the 13 goal a week team but I also don't think they are the 3 goal a week team. Just keep getting points somehow and we'll see what happens.
